Teaching students boat electrofishing during a fish management field exercise in the Department of Natural Resources at UConn
As a graduate student at the University of Connecticut, I have been involved in teaching my own classes, working as a teaching assistant, and mentoring undergraduates in a broad range of topics such as fish management, stream ecology, field techniques, conservation genetics, scientific writing, adaptive management, and statistical analyses in R and ArcGIS. I also had the opportunity to be involved in the UConn Natural Resources Conservation Academy (NRCA) as a camp counselor, where I got to lead field based activities introducing local high school students to the surrounding natural resources (photo top left). See below for a detailed list of my teaching and mentoring experiences and my CV for additional details on each.
